Lean is an approach to business process management that aims to eliminate waste, increase value for the user and improve workflow through simple but effective tools.
WorkShop is a practical Lean workshop during which participants, through work on a simulated process, apply key Lean tools - from value stream mapping (VSM), through the identification of losses, to the design of an improved process. Through teamwork and guided analysis, participants learn how to recognize inefficiencies and create concrete solutions applicable in everyday work. The aim of the workshop is for the participants to acquire the skill of quickly spotting problems and making effective improvements.
The training is intended for employees of all sectors regardless of position, without the necessary prior knowledge of Lean methodology; everyone who wants to gain a clear insight into the basics of effective business.
The duration of the training is 120 minutes. Training format: 3 thematic units, with a focus on the rapid application of Lean thinking and tools through a simple example.
01 Introduction to Lean and Flow Mapping (30 minutes)
A brief overview of Lean principles and the 9 losses
What is value and what is waste
Introduction to Value Stream Mapping (VMS)
02 Group exercise: Flow analysis and problem identification (45 minutes)
Teams get a simple description of the process (eg delay in order approval)
Drawing the AS-IS flow on a flipchart
Marking losses and problems
Short solution proposal (TO-BE flow) with application of 1-2 Lean tools (e.g. 5S, standardization)
03 Discussion and conclusions (30–45 minutes)
The teams briefly present what they observed and proposed
Group discussion: what from this can be immediately applied in real work
Conclusion: What is the Lean mindset and what does the "first next step" look like
